Afenifere Youth Begs Gov.Yahaya Bello To Rescue them From Hunger In South-West

A youths advocacy group, Afenifere For Collective Transformation ACT led by the Director General Prince Tolu Ajayi has called on the governor of Kogi state Governor Yahaya Bello to please come and rescue the south from hunger which has begun to bit harder in the region due to the refusal of the Amalgamated Food and Cattle Dealers Association of Nigeria to supply food and cattle to the south.

The group made the call in Akure Ondo state in a press release jointly signed by the Director General Prince Tolu Ajayi and the Chief Press Secretary to the DG Comrade Salami Taiwo Ramon on Tuesday 9th of June, 2021.

The group noted that the call became necessary since the people of the south no longer have any other person that can salvage the ugly situation facing the region. According to the DG, "This press conference became urgently necessary as we cannot watch and see our people suffering undeserved hardship and hunger knowing fully well that leaders in the south are obviously unconcerned."

"Our governors and prominent individuals in the south are only concerned about what affect them alone and not the people. They are in their comfort zones enjoying their three square meal and therefore have no reminder that millions of our people especially children and women are suffering undeserved hunger at this critical time. Many could not speak up because they know they are irrelevant and won't be taken serious by the association."

"This is why Afenifere For Collective Transformation ACT is beaconing on the governor of Kogi state Governor Yahaya Bello to please come and rescue our people. It was only the governor that did it in the first quarter of this year when the same issue came up and no one could prevail on the association to suspend the action. To the surprise of all including the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammad Buhari, Governor Yahaya Bello stepped in and it was resolved within 48hours. He did this by exploring every means available including leading the members of the Amalgamated Food and Cattle Dealers Association of Nigeria to the Inspector General of Police for reassurance of security of their members and also to the Chief of Staff to the President."

"We believe Governor Yahaya Bello can still do it again and the reason we are coming out on behalf of millions of people in the south to please rescue us once more. Our people are beginning to feel the hardship harder and the pains of hunger in the south is gradually becoming unbearable. We know the governor is not just the governor of Kogi state but a Nigerian who take every part of the country as his own constituency.

"We are therefore calling on our people to remain calm and allow Governor Yahaya Bello step in and do the magic since only him has the magical key to the heart of many in the country."
