NSCDC Gets New State Commandant in Ogun


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, has gotten a new State Commandant.


The new State Commandant, Mr. Kolawole Raufu Taiwo, took over from the outgoing State Commandant, Hammed Abodunrin during the handing over ceremony which was held at the NSCDC's permanent site at Kobape, Abeokuta, the state capital on Monday.


Abodunrin, after inspecting the guard of honour stated that Ogun State is the most peaceful State in Nigeria, adding that the security operatives have been working assiduously to make sure that peace and security of the state is sustained.

He stressed that the citizens of the state have been wonderful, very cooperative with the compliance of government directives especially during endsars protests.


 "Ogun State is a Gateway state, it has boundary with another country which is Benin Republic; it's the gateway to Lagos State which is the economic capital of Nigeria, so whatever challenges they are having, we are also having here too.


"The government has been so cooperative, the governor has been giving assistance to this command, you can see he has donated vehicle to us, even this place he gave us a transformer, communication gadgets, power bikes, we would just need to continue with what we have been doing for the state.


"What is sustaining us is the confidence that people have in us añd we will continue to ensure that that confidence is sustained.


Abodunrin said "The new  Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi (mni, Ph.D) has told us that we should make sure that we are responsible and with his support we have been able to achieve a lot.


"As I am rounding up today, the vandals want to still test our capacity. Around 1am this morning, they went to the pipeline and started breaking it, they siphoned fuel and the vigilant eyes of our operatives caught them and we caught them arrested.


"We impounded their vehicles, two of them and we impounded several sacks of PMS which had been appropriately handed over to the right quarters.


"We arrested a suspect, who will soon be arraigned as soon a we conclude our investigations.




"We have impounded the vehicles and the products and taken the products to NNPC then we'll take their vehicle to court and prosecute the offender" he submitted.
