Ogun Government Commences Payment Of Bursary To All students

Ogun State Government has commenced the payment of Bursary to students who are indigenes of Ogun state studying in various tertiary institutions across the country.

The National President of the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) Comrade Oluwagbemileke  Ogunronbi disclosed this during a press conference held at the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) Secretariat Abeokuta Ogun State.

The President stressed that the  beneficiaries are among those whose data had been captured by their various institutions and sent to the government for payment. 

He explained further that students who are yet to provide the government with their data to do so as soon as possible in order not to prevent them from getting what rightfully belong to them. 

The  President  commended Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for breaking the jinx and ending a stalemate which had brought untold hardships to students, especially those that are indigents.

He said the Governor has restored the once destroyed faith and trust students had in government and the students of the state are grateful for the gesture.

Oluwagbemileke stated that the association, as the representative of Ogun state students have put measures in place to monitor the payment of the bursary to deserving students.

"This became imperative to checkmate any fraudulent activity that might want to arise in the process of the bursary award.

"We want to sound a note of serious warning to any government official and official of tertiary institutions, that NAOSS will not take likely any form of extortion or fraudulent dealing that may want to shortchange our students or prevent them from getting what is rightfully theirs.

Comrade Oluwagbemileke Ogunrombi appealed to the government and all the tertiary institutions to be open and transparent in the process of the payment of the bursary.
