In Ogun : Olumide Jones Set To Give Eye Test, Glasses, Drugs, Cataract Operation For Free


As part of his effort  to reduce incidence of avoidable blindness in the society, a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Olumide Jones is set to give 3000 residents of Ogun State free eye test and 500 free cataract operations. 


 

Olumide Jones disclosed this in a statement issued to news men in Abeokuta on Tuesday.


The programme which is for both Abeokuta North and South will hold between 26th and  27th of August at Centenary Hall Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State.


This initiative will help health professionals to detect certain eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration, which could lead to sight loss.


Olumide Jones stressed that people need to take their health conditions serious most especially their sight.


According to him, the outreach will also  support and put smiles on the faces of others by helping them not only with screening, but also with treatment and medications in furtherance of its efforts to fill the vacuum in the health sector towards producing an environment filled with healthy people.



He however, appealed to the residents of the state to avail themselves of the programme, especially the aged, to receive quality eye care services from the professionals.
