In Ogun : 40 Opposition Political Parties Pass Vote Of Confidence On Gov. Abiodun


No fewer than 40 opposition political parties in Ogun State have passed a vote of confidence and endorsement of good governance on Governor Dapo Abiodun over his achievements in the state in the last two and the half years.

Convener, Conference of Opposition Political Parties, COPP, in the state, Otunba Femi Sholuade stated this on Monday at a Press Conference, held at the Nigerian Union of Journalists, N.U.J, secretariat, Iwe-Irohin, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Sholuade, who read out Abiodun's achievements in various sectors of the state including education, health, roads, agriculture, to mention few, said that the governor had performed very well in the last 31 months in office.

According to him, the COPP had gone round the 20 Local Government Areas of the state to observe and evaluate the performance of the current administration in each sector before  passing the vote confidence on him

He mentioned the payment of special intervention two-year scheme established to fill the existing vacancies in government-owned  primary and secondary schools as well as technical colleges in the state.

The convener also commended the governor's efforts in rehabilitation, reconstruction and construction of roads across the senatorial district and his intention to complete all abandoned road projects by previous administration in the state

Sholuade lauded Abiodun's performance in Agricultural sector especially in the provision of inputs and the crediting of beneficiaries with over N1.5billion in the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) Anchor Borrow Programme and the FGN/IFAD Ogun State Value Chain Programmes e.t.c

The Convener thanked the governor for his political management style in the state by creating an enabling environment through its all inclusive mantra, stressing that members of the opposition parties are now holding various positions in his government.

He, therefore, appreciated the governors in other areas of achievement including, School construction, Reward for outstanding performance, Bursary payment, Education Trust Fund, EMIS Construction, Housing, Tricycle Ambulance, to mentioned few.
