World Television Day: Ogun Consolidated Chapel cancels 2021 edition over NUJ Chairman's death


Consolidated Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) Ogun State chapter has cancelled Chapel's 2021 edition of the World Television Day celebration billed to come up on November, 21st .

The Chairman of the Chapel , Kazeem Olowe said the cancellation is part of it's activities in mourning the chairman of the union Mr Soji Amosu who died on Sunday after a brief illness.

Olowe disclosed this in a statement signed by him on Monday.

His words "I received the sad news of the death of our leader, Mr. Soji Amosu yesterday and indeed it was shocking and unexpected but we have no power to challenge death or query the supremacy of God over everything, both living and non living.

"While we mourn his exit, I appeal to all of us to remember his family in our prayers and pray  God grant him eternal rest and forgive his shortcomings.

"Also, all arrangements for the Chapel's 2021 edition of the World Television Day celebration billed to come up on November, 21st 2021 is hereby cancelled in his honour.

"He was our leader, brother and friend. In fact, he inaugurated this chapel in 2016 and for this and many other reasons, we must honour him.

"May God grant him rest and uphold his family".
