Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has shared a heartfelt message, expressing his deep appreciation to veteran actor Dele Odule for stepping in to mediate his ongoing dispute with the African Men Entertainment Kings (AFRIMEK).
Just days ago, it was reported that AFRIMEK, under the leadership of Femi Adebayo, had indefinitely suspended Johnson for what they described as gross misconduct and a violation of the club’s constitution. The suspension shocked many, as AFRIMEK made a public announcement that Johnson felt could severely damage his reputation, his family, and, most importantly, his brand.
In a response posted on Sunday, Johnson expressed his disappointment with the manner in which the club handled the situation. While acknowledging that he is not above the club, Johnson emphasized that his identity and achievements existed long before his association with AFRIMEK, and the club’s statement could have serious repercussions.
Taking to Instagram, Johnson extended his gratitude to Dele Odule, praising him for being a true father figure, mentor, teacher, listener, and leader. “Father. Teacher. Mentor. Listener. And a leader. God bless you sir… @deleodule_,” Johnson wrote, expressing his heartfelt thanks for Odule's intervention.
This incident is not the first time AFRIMEK has taken disciplinary action against its members. Last year, the organization suspended actor Shoneye Olamilekan, popularly known as Papa Showw, for physically assaulting fellow actor Temidayo Morkinyo. In a letter signed by the club’s mayor, Femi Adebayo, AFRIMEK distanced itself from Olamilekan’s actions, emphasizing that such behavior does not reflect the values the club upholds. Following the suspension, Olamilekan publicly apologized to Morkinyo and vowed never to repeat such behavior.
