Peace Restored Among Okada Riders in Ogun Following Stakeholder Intervention

The Ogun State Government has successfully mediated a resolution to recent tensions within the commercial motorcycle (okada) sector in Abeokuta, restoring lasting peace through a high-level stakeholder engagement.

The conflict, which involved okada riders, transport enforcement agents, and other stakeholders, prompted the intervention of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Ethnic Affairs, Hadi Sani.

A pivotal meeting was convened at the office of the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Lanre Oyegbola, bringing together key parties, including union leaders and representatives of the Arewa okada riders, who constitute over 80% of the sector.

“We are glad to announce that all issues were amicably resolved and lasting peace has been established,” stated Hadi Sani.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring peaceful coexistence across Ogun State.
