AYORINDE GIVES OUT TRICYCLES, SCHOOL BAGS, CASH SUPPORT, OTHERS TO CONSTITUENTS


Abeokuta North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Adebayo Ayorinde has distributed empowerment items to his constituents in the local government with the aim of improving their well-being and making them self-reliant. 

Ayorinde who gave out the items to commemorate his 100 Days in office as the Chairman of the local government, said more empowerment programs under his administration are well underway. 

The 100 Days celebration and empowerment programme of the Council Chairman was held at the popular Oba Odeleye Green Park, Ori-Omi, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.  



The empowerment items include the distribution of 1000 customized School Bags tagged "Back to School" to Public Primary School pupils across the 16 Wards of the Local government; empowerment of 6 women with tricycles and cash support of #10,000 each; empowerment of 100 Youths with cash grants and the launching of an Health Insurance Scheme for 50 indigenes of the Local Government.

While speaking at the event which was well attended by leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), party members, Local Government Staff, Captains of Industry and residents of Abeokuta North local government, Hon. Ayorinde noted that his administration is poised to make life better for his people. 

He said "Without being immodest, I can say we have given a good account of ourselves in the execution of our mandate in the last 100 days."



"The positive feedbacks from our people in these days have further strengthened our resolve to put the people first in whatever we do and I can assure you that we will sustain efforts our empowerment programs, because they are vital in helping us accomplish the task of moving Abeokuta north to greater heights.  

"I am going to continue empowering our people till I leave office. We have identified the fact that creating jobs ultimately alleviate poverty, builds a stronger local economy, and helps our people to be self-reliant. You cannot stop something that works."

The beneficiaries of the cash donation which include Widows, physically challenged people, aged, women and unemployed youth were drawn from 16 wards across the local government.

Meanwhile, the Local government Chairman gave a cash gift in appreciation of the laudable feats of World Champion and Gold Medalist, Latifat Tijani Omolola, who is an indigene of the local government. 

Some of the notable dignitaries at the event include top Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Engr. Seni Ayorinde, Alh. Bakai Okedara, Prince Kayode Tejuosho, High Chief Bode Mustapha, Barr. Wale Abeeb Ajayi, Hon. Olayiwola Ojodu, Commissioner for Rural Development, Engr. Taiwo Oludotun, Vice Chairman of the LG, Hon. Ayoola Oluajo, State Organizing Secretary of the APC, Alh. Adelani Adeyemi, immediate past Chairman of the APC, Abeokuta North LG, Alh. Akeem Shobayo, APC Chairman, Abeokuta North LG, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde, Chief Timothy Akindele, Chief Ahmed Taiwo, Alhaji Hakeem Okedara among others.
