Former Caretaker Chairman of Abeokuta North local government, Prince Dr Babatunde Tella has emerged as the flag bearer of All Progressive Congress APC Candidate to represent the local government at state's House of Assembly.
The election which had the state party executives, Independent electoral commission ( INEC) on ground held its primary at Unity High school Ago -Ika , Abeokuta.
Tella defeated his other rivals, Afeez Shokunle, Akeem Oluseye and Yomade Biobaku, Sanni Sulaiman
Tella polled 36 votes to defeat Afeez Shokunle (NIYAS) who polled 33 votes, Yomade Biobaku 2 votes, Akem Oluseye polled1 vote , while Sulaiman Sanni polled 5 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Tella expressed satisfaction on the conduct of the exercise, saying he was happy with the election.
He appreciated the delegates for their support during and after the primary election.
His words "This is an opportunity that I have been looking for. An opportunity to serve my people. I will give them good and equitable representation. l am challenged and I will not disappoint my people.
"The process was free and fair as we could all see. This is a sign that our party, APC does not give room for bias or any form of manipulation in a situation like this.
"By the grace of God, come 2023 we will be at Oke-mosan giving our good people dividend of democracy. I will make sure I try my best and I will not disappoint them.
Delegates at the primary adjudged the process as satisfactory.
