Addressing gathering of youths at the "2023 Rescue Nigeria Project" programme held at the expansive Akure city hall in Akure on Monday, the Ondo state PDP youth leader and the coordinator of the group in the state, Comrade Folorunso Makinde described Alhaji Atiku as an experience politician that is capable of leading Nigeria to economic recovery.
"We are presently in a mess as a result of the misrule of the Buhari-led administration. The All Progressive Congress (APC) administration has landed us into economic and security challenges. Lives and properties are no longer secured in this country.
" I am calling on my fellow youth in the South-West zone to support the Atiku/Okowa ticket. It is a ticket that will lead us to economic stability," he said.
In his address, the former deputy governor of Ekiti state who was the special guest of honour ar the event, Professor Kolapo Eleka urged the youth to rise up and deliver Alhaji Atiku as the next president of Nigeria, saying the former vice president will turn things around for good if elected.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of "South-West PDP Youth Ambassador" award to Mr. Ayo Idowu by the group.
Presenting the award to Mr. Ayo, the North Central Zonal youth leader, Comrade Aruwa Ismaila describe the recipient as a hardworking young man cum successful business man who has contributed immensely to youth development programmes in Nigeria.
In attendance at the event were Micheal Ogunsina, Oyo state youth leader, Oyejide Sunkanmi, Ogun PDP Youth leader, Aare Amerijoye Donald, Ekiti Youth leader and Agboola Dare , Lagos PDP youth leader.
