During the presentation of the rice on Wednesday in Abeokuta, the commissioner said that the gesture was to share the joy of Christmas and New Year with the residents of the local government.
He said he was moved to remember his community at Yuletide, saying that it was a season of giving and showing love and “I love giving back to the society’’.
The Commissioner said that he planned to do more in future.
He therefore advised Nigerians not forget the essence of the season, urging people to show love to one another and put smiles on as many faces as possible.
The Commissioner said the bags of rice would be shared to the wards across the local government .
In her response, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairman in the local government Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde commended the commissioner for supporting the people, and assured him on the items getting to the people.
