Sagamu Riot: Ogun PDP Demands DSS Director’s Redeployment

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in Ogun State has demanded that Femi Aaron, the state director of the Department of State Services (DSS), be redeployed in response to the Sagamu banks attack.

The Party alleged that the Governor of the State, Governor Dapo Abiodun, had been intimidating the party's candidates with the DSS in relation to the mayhem.

The Party further alleged that instead of shifting blames, it was Governor Abiodun who incited the public against the banks.

Presenting the position of the party in a press release, the Ogun State capital, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Party, Adekunle Akinlade, said the Party is worried about the fairness of the DSS Director.

The party alleged that the DSS broke into the house of five candidates and supporters without former invitation or any warrant.

"It is sad if Gov Abiodun now descent to using security agencies to harass PDP candidates and hunt innocent citizens across the State."

Reacting, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dapo Abiodun ,Kunle Somorin denied harassing opponents with the security operatives.

"Clear conscience fears no accusations.  No one with clean hands should feel harassed or intimidated. Let anyone invited, who has nothing to hide, no skeleton in their cupboard, go and clear their names.

"Justice, fairness, and public order are at stake.  Politicising them will do neither the incumbent administration nor opposition any good,” Somorin said.
