In line with the state government's Social Investment Programme, Governor Abiodun recently appointed a number of individuals as Social Investment Assistants across the state.
The state Coordinator of OG-SIA Adeosun Azeez said that the responsibilities of the Social Investment Assistants is to work towards ensuring equitable distribution of resources to the vulnerable in ogun localities.
Azeez disclosed this on Monday during a press conference held at APC campaign secretariat, Oke mosan, Abeokuta Ogun State capital.
Azeez added that other responsibilities include identifying sectors and areas that need government intervention at the grassroot and work collaboratively towards addressing the issues as well as to inform and sensitize the general public about government poverty alleviation programmes and policies.
He however declared to make use of the OG-SIA to mobilize and influence votes across the 20 local governments of the state through a door to door campaign movement.
His words "In the same vein, the Apex Body now deems fit to make use of our structure to mobilize and influence votes in all our localities through what we tag “door to door campaign movement”.
"We now have a well-organized structure from the state to local government, ward and polling booth level. The coordinators of each level shall immediately swing into action by effectively carrying out the assignments ahead of us.
"His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, has declared the distribution of food palliatives to over 400,000 Ogun state people in order to ease the suffering caused by the scarcity of the new naira notes and petrol.
"On behalf of the good people of Ogun state who will benefit from this kind gesture, we say a big thank you to His Excellency, the Governor".
