PRESIDENTS, NEAR PRESIDENTS, PRESIDENT ELECT AND THE EGBALAND ELEMENT

When we take a good look at the politcal history of Nigeria, there are a few realistic myths that have been created over time.

One of such myth, is the fact that the north have always been positioned to pick, select or elect all PRESIDENTS from the South. Is this correct or not?

I align myself with those who believe in this realistic myth.

The second myth, is that to be President from the South West, you either must come from Egbaland, journeyed through Egbaland on your life's journey or make institutionalized statements that will create trajectories for future political victory in Egbaland. Hmmm. Let's explore this myth.

NEAR PRESIDENTS.

1. Obafemi Awolowo, the sage as it goes, remains the point of reference for all of us Yorubas. He contested twice for President and was referred to as " The best President Nigeria never had". His connection to Egbaland, is as clear as day, he cut his teeth in academics from that popular great citadel of learning called Baptist Boys High School in the ancient great city of Abeokuta that houses the Egbas.

MKO ABIOLA, won the freest and fairest election ever in Nigeria. He was the 1st Bobagunwa of Egbaland. He also attended the great citadel of learning and leadership(a school I also attended with pride) Baptist Boys High School Abeokuta Egbaland.

PRESIDENTS.

EARNEST SONEKAN, was a highly respected Egbaman and Abese of Egbaland who was interim President of Nigeria.

Chief Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo the Jagunmolu of Egbaland and without a doubt the most popular President to have come out of Nigeria to the world. Baba also attended that great citadel of learning and leadership Baptist Boys High School.

Finally, our Jagaban Borgu, Asiwaju gbogbo Yoruba and President - Elect. Knowing the efficacy of the Egbaland myth, came to Abeokuta and created a whole new dictionary of political proclamation such as Yoruba lokan, Emilokan and Egbe kini yi wa, slogans that formulated the trajectories of popularity and became global language on social media which propelled our Asiwaju to victory, he was to later come back to Abeokuta again as candidate of APC where a final proclamation was made when he said in clear terms that " Ama dibo a de ma wole"

Some great traditional minds have said that all the times Asiwaju came to Abeokuta to make those declarations, it was with clear knowledge of what Abeokuta and Egbaland stands for. It is a land where Presidents, near Presidents and President Elects are either born, schooled or propelled to claim natural blessings.
