Olumide Osoba hails victory of Nigerian born kickboxer, Adesanya

The chairman committee on sports Development in the House of Representatives, Olumide Osoba has congratulated Nigerian born kickboxer, Israel Mobalaji Adesanya for reclaiming the UFC middleweight title from Alex Pereira in the main event of UFC 287 at the FTX Arena in Miami, Florida on Sunday morning.

The house of representatives-elect in a statement personally signed by him and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta said  Adesanya 's victory was well deserved, adding that he has made his country proud.

Olumide Osoba commended him for his outstanding performance in reclaiming the UFC middleweight title from Alex Pereira, adding that he has demonstrated  "heart of lion"

Recall that the  knockout came from nowhere as Pereira was initially on the offense.

Pereira was unleashing body hooks and a knee to the ribs, with Adesanya backed against the cage, when the challenger threw a right hook out of nowhere!!

It froze Pereira, so similar to the end of the first round in their last fight, but this time there was no buzzer to save Pereira; the next punch dropped him, and he was out cold after the fist.

It took Israel Adesanya just two rounds to end Alex Pereira’s dominance and reclaim the middleweight title he lost last November.

Adesanya has been in the shadows of the Brazilian since 2017 when they first met in kick-boxing.

But one fierce punch from Izzy’s right hand put out Pereira’s lights and handed the belt back to the Nigerian.

Just before the decisive punch, it was looking like it was going to be a repeat of November when Pereira had Adesanya boxed into a corner, sending head kicks and body shots.

Adesanya’s response came out of the blues and caught Pereira unaware, putting him to sleep just like it was for Adesanya during their meeting in kick-boxing.
