Ogun NNPP Assembly Candidate calls for calm amidst party crisis

Ogun state house of assembly candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) during the just concluded 2023 general polls, Honourable Samuel Sogbeinde, has called for calm among the party members in the state.

This is coming after the state chapter of the party had been facing internal crisis among the factions loyal to the state chairman of the party, comrade olaposi oginni and those loyal to the governorship candidate of the party, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, over the outcome of poll.

Sogbeinde, who made the appeal while addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital, described the current crisis rocking the party as unnecessary.

The assembly candidate for obafemi owode local government explains that the party which promises to offer Nigerians new country must not act in any way capable of ridiculing itself.

He added that the party is bigger than the two factions or any member of the party and they must respect the party supremacy and give room for peace.

According to him, "the national leadership of the party must quickly set up reconciliation committee to restore normalcy into the party, especially in ogun state."

Sogbeinde, however, asks both oginni and ajadi to sheath their swords and work together to reposition it for better performance ahead future polls.
