Group Lauds Tinubu's Emergence As ECOWAS Chairman

The Bola Campaign Organization (BCO), a group affiliated with the All Progressives Congress, has praised the selection of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria's President, as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

In a statement endorsed by its National Patron, Alhaji Abdulwahab Korede Quardi (FCIB), National Coordinator, QS Mohammed Makinta (FNIQS), and National Women Leader, Alhaja Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the group noted that Tinubu's appointment would enhance stability and peace in the sub-region.

The group described Tinubu as a committed and capable leader with a pan-African perspective, noting that he will foster effective collaborations and offer practical solutions to address the numerous challenges facing the African sub-region.

BCO stated further that Tinubu's election reaffirms Nigeria's significant role in the economic growth, democratic stability, and sustainable development of the region, given its status as the largest economy in Africa.

"With the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the new leader of ECOWAS reconfirms his strength as a political and economic leader in Africa.

"We rest assured that with this election, it is no doubt that President Tinubu will perform in the best interest of Nigeria and West African States to ensure peace, stability, and sustainability of the regional economy," BCO said.

Recall that Tinubu's emergence as the Chairman for another year came following unanimous endorsement at the 63rd ordinary session of the regional bloc in Guinea Bissau on Sunday.
