Amosun Pays Tribute to Political 'God Mother' at Grand Funeral Ceremony

Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, led a  grand funeral ceremony in honour of his political 'godmother', Chief (Mrs) Taiwo Kosenatu Durojaiye, in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.

Addressing a congregation gathered at the Emmanuel Anglican Church, Keesi, Amosun passionately spoke of Mama Durojaiye's pivotal role in his political journey, attributing his success as a lawmaker in the National Assembly and his two-term governorship to her steadfast support and guidance. 
Describing her as a paragon of integrity in the realm of politics, Amosun highlighted her non-transactional approach, emphasizing her enduring commitment from the year they met in 2001 until her passing.

According to him" "Well she's is like a mother to all of us, political mother, because when we joined politics she was one of the trusted that I met in 2001.

"One good thing about her she is not a transactional politician. She has stayed in the course with us since 2001 till date that is why we are here."

The Vicar of the Church, Ven. Oluyinka Oke, delivered a poignant sermon, reminding the congregation of the inevitability of death, stressing the transient nature of life. 

"Death is an unavoidable reality, one that will visit everyone at their appointed time,"
 Ven. Oluyinka urged individuals to reflect on the legacy they would leave behind and the impact of their deeds.

Among the distinguished personalities present at the funeral service were Dr (Mrs) Olufunso Amosun, Chief Derin Adebiyi, Barrister Biyi Otegbeye, Hon. Muyiwa Oladipo, former Minister of State for Transport, Mr Ademola Adegoroye, Architect Segun Abiodun, and Hon Gbenga Ademosun, alongside other eminent figures.
