Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Thursday, Brigadier General Aminu emphasized that the project is part of the brigade's civil-military cooperation activities aimed at giving back to society.
He highlighted the collaborative approach taken by the army, engaging with communities to identify critical needs and providing assistance with the available resources.
"This project is a result of discussions with our host community, Alamala, where they identified water scarcity as a major challenge. Today, we have fulfilled our promise by sinking a solar-powered borehole. I believe this project will significantly impact the lives of the community and society at large."
The baale (community leader) of Alamala, High Chief Akimade Yemi, expressed gratitude for the initiative.
According to him "The Commander has done well, and we appreciate him. Our community values the cordial relationship with Alamala barracks. This water project is crucial, and we are committed to secure and maintain it. While we appreciate this gesture".
A resident of Alamala Community, Aminat Zakariyah, shared her relief, especially during the dry season.
"I thank God and our commander because we have been suffering for water. This water will benefit everyone in the community, and we are grateful for this timely intervention," she said.
