In line with the Ogun State Government’s drive to ensure Public-Private Partnership (PPP), for improved economic growth, the ground-breaking of a multinational manufacturing company, Otsuka Nigeria Nutraceuticals Limited has been held in Orile-Imo, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
Speaking at the event, Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to the State Governor, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, said the factory’s interest in establishing in the State is a testament to the industrial initiative of the present administration in creating an enabling environment for prospective investors.
Okubadejo, represented by the Commissioner for Industry Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, stated that the transformational drive of the government, particularly on infrastructural development, business process improvement, flexible land acquisition and administration policies were geared towards endearing investors, which would invariably create economic prosperity for the people of the State.
Okubadejo said, "Ogun State is the number one investment destination of choice, which is made possible by the transformational works embarked upon by the present administration’’.
In his welcome address, the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Yoshihiro Bando expressed gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun for creating a friendly business environment, adding that the ground-breaking ceremony of the factory in the State has been much anticipated.
Bando noted that their product, Pocari Sweat from Indonesia is often referred to as the "Drinkable lV Solution" and has been embraced not only in Japan but also in Indonesia and various Asian countries standing as Asia's number 1 electrolyte and isotonic beverage consumed during exercise and in times of diarrhea or fever.
In his goodwill message, the Chairman House Committee on Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Bisi Oyedele, said the establishment of the Company would culminate in an increase in the Gross Domestic Product of the State, leading to economic growth and development.
