The association, serving as the overarching body for all private school proprietors in Lagos State, saw a gathering of school owners, education stakeholders, and Lagos State Government officials for a comprehensive one-day event aimed at enhancing leadership skills in the education sector.
Initiated by the Current Vice President, Dr. Comfort Otegbeye, the workshop was expertly conducted and generously sponsored by Exprimons Consultants, providing a platform for discourse, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative sessions to benefit all private schools in the state.
Dr. Wasiu Adumadeyin, the immediate-past President of the association, warmly welcomed attendees, encouraging them to leverage this capacity-building opportunity to enrich their leadership competencies.
He extended appreciation to the workshop's facilitator, Dr. Comfort Otegbeye, acknowledging her commitment and hinting at more remarkable contributions in the future.

In a keynote address to the workshop, the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education in Lagos State, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun stressed the need for collaboration between government and the private sector in terms of delivering qualitative education to the young ones.
According to him, “Partnership and collaboration with private schools is inevitable”.
The commissioner thereafter assured the association of government’s support at all times; saying his ministry and office doors are open to members of the association.
Speakers at different sessions of the event include, Prof. Ben Oghojafor, the Vice Chancellor Dennis Osadebey University, Delta State; Mr. Tunde Adeola, an Executive Director and Head of Commercial at Sterling Bank and Mrs. Oluwatoyin Puddicombe, a seasoned Human Recourses Practitioner.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Chairman Amuwo-Odofin, Chief Ologundudu, appreciated participants for their time and support.
He used the podium to eulogise the sponsor of the event, Dr. Comfort Otegbeye for the laudable capacity-building initiative; commending her passion, vision and doggedness toward ensuring a virile education sector.
He urged members of the association to elect Mrs. Otegbeye as the next President of NAPPS during the upcoming transition election in November.
In her humbling remark at the event, Dr. Comfort Otegbeye reiterated the purpose of the workshop and the need for private school owners to be imbued with the right leadership capacities.
She used the opportunity to introduce the “Comfortability Team” – which is her presumptive Executive members – also standing for offices in the upcoming NAPPS election.
Otegbeye assured that her presidency will herald a new dawn for the association; promising to bring experience and vision to bear in her leadership.
Other members of the association that gave remarks spoke glowingly about Dr. Otegbeye and solicited for her emergence as the next NAPPS president.A total of 123 private school owners participated at the workshop and received certificates of attendance.
