The Commandant of NSCDC Ogun State Command, David Idowu Ojelabi, emphasized the importance of continuous training to enhance the capabilities of peace officers.
He disclosed on Thursday at the command's state headquarters in Owu Dekudu village off Kobape road, Abeokuta Ogun state.
Commandant Ojelabi urged participants to capitalize on the training opportunity to enhance their personal capacity for conflict resolution.
He maintained a commitment to elevate the standards of personnel across all units.
"Today is their own day to give them a special course on principle and practice of Alternative dispute resolution, their responsibilities as peace officers of Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp, their relationship with members of the public on how to handle cases when they're reported to the command."
Speaking about his leadership approach, Commandant Ojelabi expressed his dedication to keep his officers vigilant through consistent training and retraining.
He highlighted the strategic in-house redeployment implemented to foster a cohesive and efficient working environment.
"Am ready to put my officer on their toes , training and retraining as been the aspiration of our commandant General and the state commandant need to key into it to re-strategize the system and to move the corp forward and also to let them know that best practices is what we desire and this should rendered to the members of the public without hesitation.
Commandant Ojelabi acknowledged the commendable performance of the Ogun State unit since his tenure began.
He disclosed that the officers undergoing training are desks officers from the Peace and Conflict Management Department, strategically placed in all 61 divisional offices and the 10 area commands across Ogun State.
