Obafemi Owode LG Chairman Presents N4bn Budget for 2024, assures more dividends of democracy

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government of Ogun State, Ambassador Ogunsola Adesina Lanre on Wednesday presented  N4,393,547,774.00 as    the year 2024 budget, tagged “Budget of Consolidation and sustainable development ”.

The budget was presented to the Legislative Arm of the Council on Wednesday, 31st January, 2024  which  reflects the administration's commitment to secure a lasting legacy and fostering continued growth and progress within the locality.

Ogunsola highlighted the significant contributions of the state government to the advancement of the local government.

He also congratulated the Governor on his recent victory at the Supreme Court, emphasizing the renewed mandate for continuity and progressive governance.

The Chairman emphasized the importance of maximizing the dividends of democracy for the people of Obafemi Owode local government, the state, and the nation as a whole.

The Chairman reiterated the administration's dedication to create a robust framework for sustained growth and development, focusing on transforming the local government and uplifting the lives of its citizens.

The  Chairman emphasized the significance of leaving a lasting legacy and urged collaboration in the pursuit of an enduring impact for the good of the local government and future generations.

According to him" In line with this administration's strict commitment to the budgetary discipline, we have established a formidable structure to ensure proper implementation of this appropriation bill as well as monitoring of it's performance to maximize the dividends of democracy for the people of Obafemi Owode local government, the state, and the nation in general.

"I now present the year 2024 Budget proposal of our local government tagged " Budget of consolidation and sustainable development" to further impact the lives of our people positively through people's oriented policies, programmes and projects in the fiscal year 2024 and beyond.

"I have laid before you our proposed Estimates carefully prepared to reflect the economic reality of our local government.

"We are aware of the limitation posed by the lack of adequate funds and ever increasing demand for public  goods.

"Hence, our administration remains focused in our determination to march on till the end of this administration and create a formidable framework for sustained growth and development" he said.
