According to an eyewitness, the electric shock was broke out from the stepdown transformer suspended on electrical pole next to the shop where the incident happened as at the time the shop owners arrived for their daily sales in the market.
The council boss visited the victims who are receiving treatments at Mowe Health Post, assured them of quality medical care with all the expenses to be paid by government.
He seized opportunity to address nursing mothers on proper care of children and importance of anti-natal clinic, while gave financial supports to the numbers in attendance.
Mrs. Oriyomi Odunayo, Community Health Officer who is attending to the victims explained that the patients were rushed to the health post on Monday, sustained degrees of burnt as a result of electrocution which had claimed live of a teenager before she was brought to the health post for medical care.
She further explained that the remaining four people are responding well to treatment, anytime soon they will be discharged to their various homes.
Similarly, the council boss took a tour of the Market to caution and sound a note of warnings to shop owners that have their shop under high-tension cables, should remove it before seven days ultimatum and also to give access on the walkways for pedestrians in the market.
" I am not pleased with the news of people being electrocuted here, it is a great loss for the sole of a young girl that passed on due to nonchalant attitude of our people, imagine having your shops closed to an electrical pole that carries stepdown transformer".
"Let me also said that everyone that has extended its shop beyond where it should be, particularly those under high-tension cables should start removing it from today", said Council Boss.
Entourage during the visits includes, Chief Alhaji Yaya Oriyomi, Baale of Mowe, Chief Nurudeen Aina, Babaloja of Mowe market, Chief Mrs. Morufat Odebiyi, Iyaloja of Mowe market, Team of Divisional Police, Mowe Division among others.
