Nigeria’s Osimhen Open to Staying at Conte’s Napoli Amid Cooling PSG Interest-OXYGIST

Victor Osimhen, Nigeria's star striker, may stay at Napoli this summer despite numerous transfer rumors, according to Soccernet.ng.

Osimhen became a top target for many of Europe's elite clubs after scoring an incredible 31 goals, leading Napoli to their first Scudetto in over 30 years. Clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, PSG, and several Saudi Arabian teams showed immediate interest in him following his remarkable season.

In December, Napoli convinced Osimhen to sign a contract extension with the understanding that he could leave if any club met the €130 million release clause. So far, no club has stepped up to pay the hefty fee, with only PSG showing interest if Napoli offers a significant discount.

Recent reports suggested that Napoli and PSG were nearing an agreement, but French journalist Loic Tanzi revealed that negotiations have cooled. This delay is mainly because PSG has not yet managed to offload either of their strikers, Gonçalo Ramos or Randal Kolo Muani, to make room for Osimhen.

Contrary to some reports, Osimhen is not desperate to leave Naples and will not force a transfer. Instead, the Super Eagles striker is open to staying another year at Napoli and working under coach Antonio Conte.

Conte, the former Chelsea and Tottenham manager, has always shown a preference for Romelu Lukaku if Osimhen leaves. However, Osimhen plans to discuss his future with Conte, aiming to lead the line for Napoli next season.

Osimhen’s willingness to stay shows his commitment and adaptability, ensuring that Napoli remains a formidable force in the upcoming season.
