After a lackluster season at Real Sociedad, Sadiq is looking for a club where he can enjoy more playing time. Last season, the Super Eagles forward started only 14 out of the 34 matches he played for Sociedad, netting just three goals and providing one assist.
Despite his modest statistics, Sadiq has attracted interest from several clubs. Four La Liga teams, including Getafe and Valencia, are reportedly keen on signing him. However, the interest in Sadiq extends beyond Spain, as Greek powerhouse Olympiakos is also targeting the Nigerian striker.
According to a report on B92, Olympiakos aims to bolster their attacking lineup, which already features Moroccan star Ayoub El Kaabi, by adding Sadiq to their ranks.
Sadiq is accustomed to new challenges across various countries. Since arriving in Europe in 2014, the Kaduna-born player has showcased his skills in Italy, the Netherlands, Scotland, Serbia, and Spain.
The 27-year-old forward was most prolific during his time with Almeria, where he joined in 2020 when they were in Spain’s second division. Sadiq scored an impressive 43 goals and provided 19 assists in just 84 appearances, playing a crucial role in Almeria’s promotion to La Liga. His outstanding performance led to a record transfer to Real Sociedad in 2022, where he scored on his league debut in a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid.
Unfortunately, Sadiq’s promising start at Sociedad was cut short by an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which required surgery and sidelined him for the season.
