The law student on Monday held a mock trial competition at the Faculty of Law moot court, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State
Habeeb Whyte Esq., Senior Associate Partner at RRA & Associates, Abeokuta, served as the judge for the event.
The competition began with the charges being read to the accused, followed by the prosecution and defense presenting their cases.
Barrister Whyte provided guidance and feedback to the counsel throughout the trial, assessing their advocacy, knowledge of facts, and knowledge of law.
The prosecution's witness, Ishola Sekinah, a 200-level law student, impressed Barrister Whyte with her performance during cross-examination, earning a promise to have her tuition fee paid for the next session.
After the final address, Barr. Whyte commended the participants for their impressive performances, announcing the scores and awarding the best lead counsel and best advocate to the prosecution and defense teams, respectively.
He also gifted the counsel with his own textbooks and commended the witnesses for their performances.
By giving back to the community in this meaningful way, Barrister Habeeb Whyte demonstrates his dedication to the advancement of law and Islam, inspiring a new generation of legal professionals to follow in his footsteps.
