Fiorentina has expressed interest in 21-year-old Italian midfielder Cesare Casadei following his exclusion from Chelsea’s pre-season tour in the United States.
Despite working with Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca at Leicester last season, Casadei was left out of the Blues’ pre-season friendlies against Wrexham, Celtic, Club America, Manchester City, and Real Madrid.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Fiorentina’s new coach Raffaele Palladino is keen on securing a loan deal for Casadei.
Former World Cup winner Francesco Graziani has also advocated for Casadei’s return to Serie A. “Chelsea signed him for his potential, hoping for a bargain, but it hasn’t worked out. I believe he would develop better in Serie A,” Graziani stated.
Casadei’s situation has also attracted attention from Lazio and Bologna, who are reportedly interested in a loan deal for the Inter academy product if he becomes available.
