Atiku’s Aide to Wike: Your Fight Isn’t for the Good of PDP, It’s for Its Destruction-OXYGIST

Paul Ibe, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has criticized Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for his recent comments about remaining in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to "fight it out." Ibe suggested that Wike’s intentions are more about undermining the party than improving it.

On Wednesday, Wike addressed journalists, firmly stating that he had no plans to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). “I don’t run away from any fight. I will stay in the PDP and fight it out. Who am I going to run from? The vampires?" Wike remarked, emphasizing his commitment to confronting challenges within the party head-on. He also mentioned that when he was in the PDP, he made it clear that he would not support their presidential candidate, and he did so openly, without any pretense.

In response to Wike’s statements, Paul Ibe took to his X handle to express his disappointment. He remarked, “Yes, it’s good to fight, but it depends on what you’re fighting for—or in this case, destroying. If a son stands by and watches his father being insulted and denigrated without defending him, then such a son is no better than a traitor. Only a prodigal son would squander his father’s legacy, and only a Judas Iscariot would sell out his master for 30 pieces of silver.”

Ibe’s response highlights the tension within the PDP, where internal conflicts have raised questions about loyalty and the true intentions of its members.
