Kano Governor’s Key Aide Resigns, Switches Allegiance to APC-OXYGIST

Abdulraham Mai Kadama, who served as the Senior Special Assistant on Entrepreneurship to Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, has officially resigned from his position. Following his departure, Mai Kadama also made a significant political shift by joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), leaving behind the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Mai Kadama’s move was marked by a meeting with Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin in Abuja on Wednesday. In a statement posted on Facebook, Jibrin revealed that Mai Kadama joined the APC to support good governance and contribute to the rapid development of both Kano State and Nigeria at large.

Jibrin expressed his enthusiasm about the development, stating, “Today marks another victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a prominent figure from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya movement, Abdulrahman Mai Kadama Kwankwasiyya, has joined our ranks.

He further shared, "During his visit to my residence in Abuja, Mai Kadama Kwankwasiyya symbolically removed the red cap and embraced the APC, the largest political party in Africa."

With this political realignment, Mai Kadama announced his new identity as Mai Kadama Maliya and confirmed his resignation from his role as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kano State Governor on Entrepreneurship II.

The seasoned grassroots politician also called on his young political allies to follow suit and join the APC, emphasizing the party's commitment to delivering tangible benefits of democracy to the people.

Jibrin concluded by reiterating the APC’s dedication to improving the standard of living for Nigerians: "Our party, APC, remains the only party truly committed to uplifting the lives of our people. Let's unite and work together—the train is big enough for everyone."

Mai Kadama had previously held significant positions within the Kwankwasiyya movement, serving as a leader in Plateau State and playing a key role in the G-6 in Kano State before his defection to the APC.
