Hon. Igbalaye Wasiu Ayodele, popularly known as IWA, representing Abeokuta South State Constituency 2, has awarded scholarship to 24 indigent students to study at a private College of Education in Ilorin.
The beneficiaries, who are indigenes of Abeokuta South Local Government, received the scholarship at the lawmaker's office in Isale Igbehin, Abeokuta, on Wednesday.
According to Hon. IWA, the scholarship is aimed at supporting financially disadvantaged students in their pursuit of higher education. He noted that this is not his first time offering scholarship to students, as part of his efforts to bring educational development to his constituents.
"I have designed a comprehensive blueprint to tackle the numerous challenges confronting the people of my constituency, including programs to address the needs of youths, women, and various empowerment initiatives," Hon. IWA said.
He added, "I will continue to do my best to ensure that our people have access to the kind of education that brings about transformation."
The scholarship award is a testament to Hon. IWA's commitment to education and the development of his constituents.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the opportunity, promising to make the most of it.
This gesture is expected to have a positive impact on the educational pursuits of the beneficiaries and the community at large.
