The former Commissioner for Agriculture in Ogun State Dr. Adeola Odedina has been recognized by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone D for his continuous support to the student community.
The event took place when a delegation from NANS Zone D, led by the South West Financial Secretary, Comrade Ajegbomogun Israel, paid a courtesy visit to the former commissioner on Saturday.
Dr Odedina expressed his gratitude for the recognition, stating, “I am honoured to have received a visit from NANS Zone D, accompanied by an Award of Appreciation for my unwavering support to the student constituency."
He further added that he felt deeply humbled by the recognition, which underscores his contributions to student leadership and advocacy over the past three decades.
Comrade Ajegbomogun Israel, a former student of the commissioner, was joined by other notable NANS leaders during the visit. These included Comrade Oluwarotimi Tobiloba (NANS JCC Chairman, Ondo Axis), Comrade Omotosho Surprise (Chief of Staff to the NANS Senate President), Comrade Oluwafemi Segun (Emeritus Chief Security Officer), Comrade Mayowa (Director of Strategic Planning to the Chairman), Comrade Salau Feyijimi (Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman), and Comrade Tosin (Director of Mobilization).
The students expressed their deep appreciation for the former commissioner’s contributions to student leadership and advocacy over the years, emphasizing his consistent support to the student population across various platforms.
Dr Odedina appreciated NANS Zone D for the award and pledged his continued support for the growth and development of Nigerian students.
His words " I appreciate you all for the award, and I promise to continue to support the growth and development of Nigerian Students."
The delegates appreciated his unprecedented achievements as Provost Federal College of Agriculture Akure, Rector Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta and as Honourable Commissioner of Agriculture in Ogun State .
