Ahead of the November 16 Local Government elections in Ogun state, Comrade Olufemi Israel Oyedele, a leading Chairmanship aspirant for Obafemi Owode Local Government Area , has unveiled his vision for the local government while also promising to enhance rural development.
Oyedele spoke during his declaration of intent to apex leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of the local government at a meeting in Abeokuta on Monday.
Oyedele, fondly called "the game changer", outlined his vision for the development of Obafemi Owode.
He disclosed that his aspiration aimed toward the development of Obafemi Owode council area, especially in terms of agriculture, food security, youth empowerment, and rural development.
The chairmanship aspirant emphasized the importance of youth empowerment and inclusiveness in local government affairs.
He also highlighted the local government's arable lands, pledging to develop rural areas and enhance farming.
He posited that his aspirations aligned with Governor Dapo Abiodun's agenda, particularly in youth development and job creation.
Oyedele assured constituents that he would bring positive change and follow the footsteps of past heroes in the local government and the state.
"People call me "the game changer" my aspiration aimed toward the development of Obafemi Owode, especially in terms of agriculture, food security, youth empowerment, and rural development.
"Youth empowerment will not be left out in my achievable goals, and inclusiveness of all and sundry in the local government affairs, if given the chance to serve I would ensure that there is development in rural areas of the local government to enhance improved farming.
"My aspirations would be to support Governor Dapo Abiodun's agenda particularly in youth development, and job creation," he said.
Oyedele assured the constituents that he would bring a positive change if accorded the chance to serve.
