Cyril believes that such an idea will afford the people at the grassroots access to health care services as well as help the PHCs across the country to function well.
He noted that it is imperative for the federal ministry of education to involve the patent medicine dealers in its efforts to provide health care service for the grassroots people since they (patent medicine dealers) are closer to the people.
The National President during the maiden edition of the conference of Ogun state chapter of the association, held in Abeokuta, the state capital on Wednesday with the theme: NAPPMED And National Health Development.
He said "We are ready to partner with the government. We have to showcase ourselves here, we are the grassroots and we have a better hand and this is what my regime wants to do; going into the grassroots, bringing out the people, let them know what the government is about doing.
"Government should know that we have so much in terms of health care delivery. We are the ones who take it down to the people. We are closer to the members of the community. So the government needs to partner with us.
Meanwhile, the state's NAPPMED President, Hannah Taiwo said the association is not resting on its oars in order to get rid of unprofessional dealers in the state.
She noted that before anybody can parade themselves as a member of the association, such a person must of been registered by the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria.
She noted that all the members of the association are professional and are operating legally in the state.
"We are doing a lot to distinguish between the real NAPPMED members and the fake. Any of our operators that are not register with the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria. That is why we encourage our members to get their license. "
