Activist Omoyele Sowore has fiercely criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration, labeling it "sadistic" in response to the planned arraignment of 75 protesters involved in the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement.
Sowore expressed his outrage on Friday, highlighting the government's decision to bring these individuals—many of whom are minors—before Justice Egwuatu at the Abuja Federal High Court on November 1, 2024. He pointed out that several protesters have already spent a staggering 80 days in detention.
In a post on X, Sowore stated, "The sadistic regime of @officialABAT is preparing to prosecute 75 individuals linked to the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement on treason charges. Many of them are minors and have endured unjust incarceration for far too long. #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria #RevolutionNow."
From August 1 to August 10, Nigerians took to the streets to voice their frustrations over the country’s hardships under the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria campaign. Unfortunately, the peaceful protests were marred by violence as hoodlums attacked demonstrators and damaged public property, leading to the arrest of many participants by a coalition of security forces.
