Reality TV star Angel Smith has opened up in a candid post following backlash over allegations made against her ex-boyfriend, Soma. The situation unfolded after a woman named Hilda, who is also a former girlfriend of Soma, publicly accused him of stalking and assault.
In response to these allegations, some social media users criticized Angel, claiming she defended Soma. One user, OyinOfLayLay, directed harsh words toward Angel, suggesting she was ignoring Hilda’s accusations and questioning her actions, labeling her a “performative feminist.”
Reacting to the criticism, Angel expressed frustration over the harassment she faced, recounting that Hilda’s friends had called her at 3 a.m., allegedly to intimidate her. Addressing the situation, Angel explained that she never denied Hilda’s claims or questioned her experience but was troubled by the way she was being blamed.
“You are so silly, I should get harassed? I never said she was not a victim. But she slut-shamed me, and her friends called me at 3 a.m., harassing me. I did nothing, but Angel must be the villain,” she responded.
Angel went on to question why she was being singled out and why people seemed intent on casting her as the villain. She asked why, if Hilda was indeed a victim, it was assumed she herself couldn’t have been one too.
In a subsequent, somber message, Angel shared that she feels she’s often blamed for everything and that perhaps the only time she’ll be truly appreciated is after she’s gone.
“It is always Angel. I’ve already accepted that the only time I will be loved is when I actually die,” she wrote.
