In a significant move, the House of Representatives has officially confirmed Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Army Staff. The confirmation follows a thorough screening process conducted by the Joint Committees on Defence and Army on Wednesday, November 27.
During the plenary session on Thursday, November 28, Committee Chairman Babajimi Benson presented the report, recommending Oluyede for the position.
The motion was swiftly approved by the House, with the session being presided over by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.
