Don’t Panic: Police Warn of Explosive Sounds in Abuja During Training Exercise-OXYGIST

The Nigeria Police Force has alerted residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to expect loud explosive sounds today, Thursday, November 28, 2024. The noise is part of a planned security training exercise taking place at the Idu Train Station.


In a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the simulation exercise aims to enhance the preparedness of security forces in responding to potential threats across the country.


Adejobi explained that the exercise, organized in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser, is scheduled to run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.


“The public is hereby notified that there will be a simulation exercise on crisis response at Idu Train Station,” the statement read.


Residents are encouraged not to panic as the training involves controlled explosions and is being conducted in a secure environment. Adejobi assured the public that there is no risk to their safety.


The Police thanked residents for their patience and cooperation during the exercise. “We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to strengthen the nation’s security framework,” Adejobi concluded.
