A sudden explosion rocked the busy Terminus market area in Jos on Tuesday morning, sending shockwaves through the city’s bustling center. According to eyewitnesses, the blast occurred around 10:30 am, with nearby residents and traders reporting scenes of panic and distress.
Initial reports suggest that several people sustained injuries, with unconfirmed accounts hinting at possible fatalities. The full extent of the damage remains unclear, but witnesses described the area as chaotic and deeply shaken by the incident.
“I was close by when a loud bang shook the area,” recounted Gyang Buba, a local clothes vendor. “People started running and shouting. It was really frightening.”
Emergency responders, including police, fire services, and ambulances, quickly arrived on the scene to offer aid and manage the situation. However, as of yet, the Plateau State Police Command has not issued an official statement, and efforts to reach the Command’s spokesperson, Alabo Alfred, were unsuccessful.
