A missing 35-year-old man, Felix Vhimga, has been found dead near a stream in the Ojowo area of Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State. Vhimga had reportedly gone missing after visiting his brother, Sunday Robert, in the community on Monday night.
According to Robert, Vhimga left his house around 9 p.m. to head home, but he never arrived. Concerned after not hearing from his brother, Robert raised an alarm the next day and reported Vhimga’s disappearance to the Ogun State Police Command.
A police source confirmed that a search was immediately launched, leading to the discovery of Vhimga’s body near a stream in the area. He was found around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, with a wound on his forehead, close to his left eye, raising questions about the circumstances of his death.
The source explained, “Felix visited his brother on November 11 and left around 9 p.m. When he didn’t arrive home the following day, his brother began searching for him and then reported his disappearance to the police. His body was later discovered with an injury to the forehead.”
Following an inspection of the scene, police evacuated Vhimga’s body and took it to Alayangbe Private Morgue for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. The case has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Ijebu Igbo, where an investigation is ongoing to uncover the details surrounding this tragic incident.
