Hon. Waheed Akomolafe, the Councilor representing Ward 8 in Abeokuta North Local Government, has been elected as the Deputy Leader of the 8th legislative council.
The announcement was made during a council meeting held at the council secretariat, Akomoje Abeokuta on Friday.
Akomolafe received unanimous support from his colleagues, reflecting their confidence in his leadership capabilities and dedication to the progress of the local government.
While Speaking with Oxygist News, Hon. Akomolafe expressed gratitude to his fellow councilors for entrusting him with the position.
He pledged to work collaboratively with other members of the council to promote good governance and bring development to Abeokuta North.
“I am deeply honoured by this trust and responsibility. I assure everyone that I will dedicate myself to ensure that our legislative arm continues to function effectively for the benefit of our people,” Akomolafe stated.
Community leaders and stakeholders have also lauded his emergence as Deputy Leader, describing it as a step in the right direction for the development of Abeokuta North Local Government.
Meanwhile, Hon. Olasehinde Ojoye representing Ward 3 in Abeokuta North Local Government was also elected as the Majority Leader of the 8th Legislative Council.
This came during a council session where members recognized his dedication and leadership qualities.
While speaking with newsmen, Hon. Ojoye expressed heartfelt gratitude to his colleagues for the confidence they placed in him.
He assured them of his commitment to work collaboratively to promote the council’s legislative goals and the overall development of the local government.
“I deeply appreciate the trust and support my colleagues have shown me. I promise to serve with diligence and ensure that the interests of our people remain our top priority,” Olasehinde stated
