Nollywood actor and media personality, Gideon Okeke, has stirred controversy online with his recent comments targeting fellow actor Jim Iyke.
Taking to his Instagram story, Gideon openly criticized Jim, labeling him a “phony” and accusing him of lacking authenticity. He claimed Jim portrays a larger-than-life persona but lacks the character to back it up.
“I’ve met some really solid individuals, while I’ve also met some phony-ass people. Like that Jim Iyke guy who wants to be a goldfish but has no sense of character. Small boy to me, small boy,” Gideon wrote.
He further accused Jim Iyke of adopting a “fake American accent” and described him as “fake everything,” asserting that if Jim could act, he might have been a better actor.
This criticism comes just days after Gideon praised Zubby Michael, hailing him as Nollywood’s biggest star. In his comparison, Gideon likened himself to Elizabeth in the Bible, acknowledging the greatness Zubby represents and encouraging him to keep excelling.
In a separate incident, Gideon also addressed societal issues, criticizing content creators and women who expose their bodies online while hiding their relationships. He emphasized the need for a safer society and called for raising better men.
Previously, Gideon commended disciplined men who resist the negative influence of social media, especially amidst the prevalence of nudity and provocative content online.
