Renowned socialite Cubana Chiefpriest has vowed to secure the release of embattled singer Speed Darlington, popularly known as Akpi, from police custody today, January 6.
Speed Darlington has been held in custody since November 2024 after he was rearrested by the police for allegedly jumping bail in a legal case involving Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy. The clash began after Speed Darlington accused Burna Boy of leveraging his relationship with American artist Diddy to secure his 2021 Grammy win. In response, Burna Boy reportedly filed a petition against Speed Darlington, leading to the latter’s arrest.
Despite a court ruling mandating Speed Darlington's unconditional release on bail, he has remained in custody, spending both Christmas and New Year celebrations behind bars.
Cubana Chiefpriest, showing solidarity with Speed Darlington, took to social media to express his commitment to ensuring Akpi’s release today.
