Manchester City have officially completed the signing of 25-year-old Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. The striker has inked a four-and-a-half-year deal, which will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2029.

Renowned as one of Europe’s brightest attacking talents, Marmoush brings versatility to City’s frontline with his ability to play in multiple positions. The Egyptian international, who has earned 35 caps for his national team, expressed his delight at joining Pep Guardiola’s squad, saying:

“Signing for Manchester City – one of the best teams in the world – is an incredible feeling.”

The club announced the transfer in a statement released on their official website on Thursday morning.

Marmoush’s football journey began at Wadi Degla in Egypt before moving to Germany in 2017. There, he featured for Wolfsburg and later joined Frankfurt in 2023. His first season at Frankfurt was stellar, with 17 goals in 41 appearances. This season, Marmoush has continued his red-hot form, scoring 20 goals and providing 14 assists in 26 games before making the move to Manchester.

Manchester City’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, spoke highly of the club’s new recruit:

“Omar is a dynamic and exciting forward, and we’re thrilled to have him join us. He possesses exceptional pace, awareness, and a clinical touch in front of goal. His versatility across attacking positions makes him a tremendous asset.”

Begiristain expressed confidence that Marmoush’s game would reach new heights under Guardiola’s guidance:

“I have no doubt that Pep and our coaching team will help Omar unlock even more of his incredible potential.”

Marmoush described the transfer as a milestone moment in his career, stating:

“This is a day I will never forget. Joining Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions and one of the best teams globally, is an amazing feeling. My family and I are so proud and excited to be here.”

The forward also shared his eagerness to grow under Guardiola’s leadership and win trophies:

“City offers everything a player needs to thrive – world-class facilities, a winning culture, and the opportunity to learn from the best. I’m here to improve and to help the team win more silverware.”

Marmoush’s impressive performances this season have cemented his reputation as a top-tier forward. His 15 Bundesliga goals are second only to Mohamed Salah among Egyptian players in Europe’s top five leagues. With his arrival, Manchester City’s attack is set to become even more formidable.
