Popular Nigerian influencer and entrepreneur, Laura Ikeji Kanu, has called on friends and acquaintances of actress and reality star Annie Idibia to avoid joining online trolls in attacking her.

Laura’s remarks follow the backlash Annie faced after her appearance on the television series Young, Famous, and African.

In the show’s third season, Annie became a target of criticism, particularly during a heated exchange with fellow cast member Nadia, the late singer AKA’s former girlfriend. Notably, Nigerian actress Ini Edo, also a cast member, refrained from defending Annie and instead referred to her as a “b!tch” during her diary session for allegedly not taking responsibility for her actions.

Reacting to the situation, Laura took to social media to express her concerns. She highlighted how reality shows often paint an incomplete picture of individuals, leading to unfair judgment by viewers who have never met them.

“Reality shows can mess with people, and I know this from personal experience,” she wrote. “If you are Annie Idibia’s friend, don’t join others who don’t know her to kick her down.”
