Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director, Simon Rolfes, has weighed in on the rumors linking Nigerian striker Victor Boniface with a move to Al Nassr during the January 2025 transfer window.
For weeks, speculation had been rife about a potential lucrative switch to the Saudi Pro League side. However, in a recent interview, Rolfes confirmed that while there was interest from various clubs, Boniface remains committed to Leverkusen.
Speaking on the matter, Rolfes stated:
"There have been talks, but we are happy that he is training with us today. I assume that he will stay. He feels comfortable here, and his attitude towards the club remains unchanged."
Reports suggest that Al Nassr opted to pursue Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán instead, securing an agreement for the Colombian forward in a deal reported to be more expensive than the one proposed for Boniface.
