Pope Francis has expressed strong criticism of United States President Donald Trump’s proposed plans to deport undocumented migrants, calling such actions a “disgrace” if implemented.
In an interview with an Italian television program from his residence at the Vatican, the Pope addressed the potential humanitarian impact of these measures. He stated, “If these plans go ahead, they will force poor, desperate people who have nothing to bear the consequences. That’s not right. That’s not how you solve problems.”
President Trump has previously pledged to initiate the largest deportation of undocumented immigrants in U.S. history shortly after assuming office. The proposal has drawn widespread attention and sparked debates over its social and ethical implications.
