Controversial rapper Darlington Achakpo, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has returned to social media following his release from prison.
On Thursday, the artist posted a video on Instagram featuring two rams engaged in a fierce clash. In a voiceover, he remarked, “To those fighting, one steps back, it’s not running away; he went to gather energy and launch back with a banger!”
Accompanying the video with the caption, “I am back!” Speed Darlington announced his return to the limelight.
The rapper regained his freedom on Tuesday after spending two months in police custody at Kuje prison. He had been detained on charges of defamation and cyberstalking, linked to allegations he made about Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy.
Speed Darlington had accused Burna Boy of having an inappropriate relationship with American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, a claim he alleged influenced Burna’s Grammy victory. The accusations were further amplified by the release of his diss track titled Baby Oil.
The rapper was first arrested in October 2024 but was released before being rearrested on November 27, 2024, during a performance in Owerri, Imo State.
