Alhaji Bakai Ajao Okedara Installed as Asiwaju Musulumi of Egbaland

Egbaland witnessed a historic moment as High Chief Alhaji Bakai Ajao Okedara was conferred with the prestigious title of Asiwaju Musulumi of Egbaland. 

The installation ceremony, held at Koboti Central Mosque, brought together Islamic scholars, dignitaries, and well-wishers from across the region to celebrate this remarkable achievement.

The journey to this significant honor began with Alhaji Bakai Ajao Okedara’s installation as Osi Adinni of Musulumi of Owu Kingdom under the leadership of Alhaji M. Ola Yusuff, FCA, and the Chief Imam of Owu Kingdom. This title, a mark of his dedication to the growth of Islam and the development of the Muslim community, was conferred in recognition of his numerous contributions to religious and social causes.

Following this honor, the train of well-wishers and Islamic leaders moved to the Koboti Central Mosque, where an even greater recognition awaited. 

In a solemn but grand ceremony, the Chief Imam of Egbaland was represented , alongside all Imams and Alfas from across Egbaland, formally installed Alhaji Bakai Ajao Okedara as the Asiwaju Musulumi of Egbaland. 

This title, meaning the leader of Muslims in Egbaland, is a highly revered position bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated unwavering commitment to the advancement of Islam and the welfare of the Muslim ummah.
The installation ceremony was graced by prominent Islamic leaders, community elders, government officials, and members of the general public. The event was marked by prayers, words of wisdom, and commendations for the new Asiwaju Musulumi, who was praised for his dedication, philanthropy, and leadership within the Muslim community.

In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Bakai Ajao Okedara expressed deep gratitude to Almighty Allah for the honor and pledged to continue working for the unity and progress of Islam in Egbaland and beyond. 

He appreciated the Chief Imam of Egbaland and all the Islamic scholars for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to promote peace, education, and social development among Muslims.

Beyond his religious contributions, Alhaji Bakai Ajao Okedara has played a vital role in community development, supporting initiatives that uplift the less privileged. 

His philanthropic efforts, especially in the areas of education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, have earned him respect and admiration from both Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the new Asiwaju Musulumi and for peace and prosperity in Egbaland. The atmosphere was filled with joy and celebration as well wishers expressed their delight over this well-deserved recognition.
